CONTROL Data from a 201-year control simulation with CGCM2 with late 20th century atmospheric concentration of green house gases.
CONTROL-1001 Data from a 1001-year control simulation with CGCM2 with late 20th century atmospheric concentration of green house gases.
GHG+A Data from an ensemble of three 201-year simulations with CGCM2 using the IPCC "IS92a" forcing scenario in which the change in green house gases (GHG) forcing corresponds to that observed from 1900 to 1990 and increases at a rate 1% per year thereafter until year 2100. The direct effect of sulphate aerosols (A) is also included.
A2 Data from an ensemble of three 111-year simulations using the provisional IPCC SRES "A2" GHG and aerosol forcing scenario. The simulations begin at year 1990 with initial conditions from the corresponding member of the GHG+A runs described above. To obtain data before 1990 please use GHG+A runs above. The A2 results differ only modestly from the IS92a results. Daily data for the time period 1961-2100 from the first member are also available. Daily data for the time period 1961-1989 are obtained from the corresponding GHG+A "IS92a" simulation.
B2 Data from an ensemble of three 111-year simulations using the provisional IPCC SRES "B2" GHG and aerosol forcing scenario. The simulations begin at year 1990 with initial conditions from the corresponding member of the GHG+A runs described above. To obtain data before 1990 please use GHG+A runs above. The B2 scenario produces a more modest warming compared to the "IS92a" and "A2" scenarios. Daily data for the time period 1961-2100 from the first member are also available. Daily data for the time period 1961-1989 are obtained from the corresponding GHG+A "IS92a" simulation.
Available monthly and daily data are summarized in this table.

Notes/updates:

  • A bug was discovered while attempting to download the daily model output from the CGCM2 B2 run using the french pages. This bug resulted in the download of the CGCM2 A2 daily output instead. The english pages are not affected by this bug. The mistake was corrected on Nov. 21, 2003. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this problem. We would like to thank Éric Ménard for alerting us to this problem. (Nov. 21, 2003)
  • Daily data from the A2-1 and B2-1 runs are completed by the data from the IS92a-1 run for the time period 1961-1989. (Feb. 24, 2003)
  • More daily data from the A2-1 run for the time period 1990-2100 are added. (Jan. 7, 2003)
  • More daily data from the B2-1 run for the time period 1990-2100 are added. (Nov. 20, 2002)
  • Daily data for precipitation, screen (2m) temperature (daily max. and min.) and mean 2m wind speed from the A2 1 run for the time period 1990-2100 are added. (Sep. 3, 2002)
  • Daily data for precipitation, screen (2m) temperature (daily max. and min.) and mean 2m wind speed from the B2 1 run for the time period 1990-2100 are added. (Aug. 28, 2002)
  • Surface pressure data from the CONTROL and GHG+A runs are added. (April 20, 2002)
  • Mean sea level pressure data from the GHG+A runs are replaced with the corrected versions that are consistent with those from the A2/B2 runs. (August 30, 2001)
  • Decadal ocean temperature and salinity data from the A2 and B2 runs are added. (August 1, 2001)
  • Decadal ocean temperature and salinity data from the CONTROL and GHG+A runs and sea level rise data from the GHG+A runs are added. (July 13, 2001)
  • Due to archival problems, one month of data (year 1999, month 12) from the A2 run (member 3) is missing. To ensure the continuity of the time series, the missing month was re-created by linearly interpolating between the values in the adjacent months. (June 21, 2001)
  • The snow water equivalent files for the A2 and B2 runs have been replaced with the corrected versions on June 21, 2001. The quality of the older versions have been downgraded by a packing routine. See also a note below. (June 21, 2001)
  • We discovered that the quality of the snow water equivalent data for all runs on this page has been inadvertently downgraded by a CCCma packaging routine. The snow water equivalent files for the CONTROL and GHG+A runs have been replaced with corrected versions on June 13, 2001. The snow files for the A2 and B2 runs will be replaced soon. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this problem. (June 13, 2001)
  • Data from the ensemble members 2 and 3 of the A2 and B2 simulations are added. (Mar. 05, 2001)
  • Data from the ensemble member 1 of the A2 and B2 simulations are added. (Jan. 15, 2001)
  • Please note that mean 2m wind speed in GHG+A simulations is calculated from daily averaged zonal and meridional wind components. (Nov. 10, 2000)
  • Data from a control simulation are added. (Oct. 18, 2000)
  • Data from three GHG+A "IS92a" simulations are added. (Sep. 5, 2000)
